SHANKARDADA ZINDABAD to be released worldwide

The Chiranjeevi starrer Shankar Dada Zindabad (remake of the Sanjay Dutt Hindi starrer Lage Raho Munnabhai) is making news of one kind or another every day. The latest is that the film would be released worldwide.

Cosmic Films in association with Peacock Indian Café have bagged the exclusive rights to market the film in Asia, Europe and North America excluding India.


No less than 5 heroes are acting in the movie - Chiranjeevi, Allu Arjun, Ravi Teja, Pawan Kalyana and Srikanth. Karishma Kotak is the heroine. Yana Gupta has done an item number.

The music by Devi Sree Prasad is already a chart buster and is said to the best in his career so far. All this has naturally raised the expectations of the audience. The film is hitting the theatres in the last week of July.

Priyamani is Bunny's heroine

It is heard that Priyamani is roped in as heroine with Bunny in his present film that is in production. Dil Raju is producing the film and Bommarillu Bhaskar is directing the film.

The film is already in its second schedule. Earlier Bhavana and Vedika were the names that were making rounds to be the heroine in this film. Finally the role seem to have landed with Priyamani.

Saikumar hitting as villain again!

Sai Kumar appears to have decided to play villain roles. He implied that in his previous interview as well. He got good recognition for his villainy in the film 'Samanyudu'.

Now he is again acting in the film 'Vijayadasami' as villain. The film is the remake version of Tamil film 'Siva Kasi' and it is going on in the direction of Samudra. Vedika and Kalyan Ram are playing lead roles in the film while Sreekanth Deva is scoring music.

The film is set to release on 6th of September. Kalyan Ram reduced his weight for this film and pinning all his hopes on this. His previous films- 'Lakshmi Kalyanam' and 'Asadhyudu' were flops and only his first film 'Athanokkadey' was hit.

Sai Kumar is awaiting recognition for his role in this film and Kalyan Ram is looking for a hit with this. This is Vedika's first direct Telugu movie as mainstream heroine. Even she is awaiting success with this as a bang.

'Mee Shreyobhilashi' is the title of Visu Films' movie

'Mee Shreyobhilashi' is the title under consideration for a film directed by Eswara Reddy, presented by CC Reddy and produced by Y Sonia Reddy on the banner of Visu Films, with Dr Rajendra Prasad playing the lead.

The last schedule of the film is slated for about a week from July 20 and would be shot in Srisailam, Horseley Hills and others places. Post-production works would begin by the end of July.

Naresh, Nazar, Raghubabu, Krishna Bhagawan, Brahmanandam, Tanikella Bharani, Ali, Dhanush, Chalapati Rao, Ravi Kondala Rao, Ravi Varma, Suraj, Meena, Rupa Kaur, Medha, Radhakumari and others are in the cast.

Dialogues are by Nandyala Srinivas and Ramesh Cheppala, music is by Koti, camera is by Ravindra Babu, action is by Ram-Lakshman, editing is by Marthand K Venkatesh.

Probably the title would be announced on July 19, the birthday of the hero of the film Rajendra Prasad.

Prince angry with Prakash Raj

Prince Mahesh Babu is reported to be very angry with Prakash Raj who is playing villain in the film Athidhi. The film is behind schedule and Prakash Raj is only complicating matters further.

He never reports on the sets on time and also abstains from shooting for days on end.
All this has put a severe strain on not only the other artists but additional financial burden on the producer.

So the director Surender Reddy is finally said to have deiced to drop Prakash Raj from the film and take Bollywood artist Mukseh Sharma in his place.

Kamal Haasan to play Bush in Tamil film

He is constantly looking for something new and challenging. The latest on Kamal Haasan is that he will play the role of US President George W. Bush in his forthcoming Tamil film 'Dasavataram'.

The four-time National Film Award winning actor has been studying Bush's speech, gait and mannerisms with the help of compact discs and computer graphics for two weeks.

And that is not all - he will play nine more roles in the same film. Make-up artists from the US and Britain are helping him to get the right look for the roles.

A replica of the White House was erected here to bring the authentic look during the shooting and the total cost of the set is estimated to be Rs.5 million.

The film is being made on a mega budget of Rs.500 million. K.S. Ravikumar directs 'Dasavataram', which is a production of Oscar Films. It is scheduled for a Diwali release.

DON to be Released Worldwide by Kosmic Films

Director-star duo Lawrence and Yuva Samrat Nagarjuna pair up again for 2007 megafilm Don. The film, produced by ML Kumar Choudary on the Sri Keerthi Creations banner, will be released in September by distributor Kosmic Films. Kosmic Films, which is also distributing and marketing the blockbuster Shankar Dada Zindabad! starring Mega Star Padma Bhushan Dr.Chiranjeevi, will be handling cinema and DVD release in all worldwide markets outside of India.

Lawrence and Nagarjuna collaborated previously on the hit film Mass, and return to work together here on a new Don film. The film features a novel plot and is unrelated to the 2006 Bollywood film Don starring Shahrukh Khan. On top of directing, Lawrence plays a supporting acting role as the brother of Don, and additionally is featured as music director. Don promises comedic dialogue and strong writing in addition to its star-studded cast, which includes Anushka and Priyamani as the female leads.

Kosmic Films will be bringing the film to all markets outside of India, with full rights to both cinema and DVD distribution.

Gopika Turns Bold to Expose!

Now it is the turn of Gopika to over take her colleagues. Every producer and director knows she is endowed with beauty and talent. But very few of them have opted her as heroine. She has been very conservative in exposing all these years. Here is good news for all the directors. She has turned modern and expressed her willingness to expose to the extent a cinematographer can exploit. No need to believe in her words. She herself has proven in this film, 'Veedu Maamoolodu Kadu'. She got drenched in water to show her curvy figure, her managers say.

'Tulasi' On 'Jayam Manadera' Lines!

'Tulasi' is the tentative title of the film in which Venkatesh is playing the lead role. Boyapati is making the film and the grapevine says that the film has got the shades of 'Jayam Manadera'.

The film unit is worrying for getting that old flavor and hence working on a few aspects to make this flick original. Although the line of the film is similar to that of 'Jayam Manadera' it was planned to make it differently. But at the end, the flavor is almost same.

The film would have made with utmost care if this resemblance is true.

'Yamadonga' and 'Happy Days' On Same Price!

Jr NTR, Rajamouli, Mohan Babu and dazzling 8 heroines on one side and Sekhar Kammula with his new actors and actresses on other side. The price of overseas distribution rights for both the films 'Yama Donga' and 'Happy Days' is almost same. While 'Yama Donga' has gone for Rs 65 lakhs, 'Happy Days' is quoted at Rs 70 lakhs. Right now the negotiations are going on for 'Happy Days'.

It is known that Sekhar Kammula has huge following in USA. He is almost a star hero there. His recent film ' Godavari' also bagged godo response in USA unlike in AP. Sekhar himself admitted that the film didn't do well in AP but made him happy with the response in USA.

That's the news about the overseas rights of these two films. Well, the total budget of 'Happy Days' is less than or equal to the expenditure burnt on canning a single song for 'Yama Donga'.

Film Institute Takes Pride in Sunil's Success!

With the success of Sunil as comedian and hero, the film institute, which produced him, is taking all the pride. He received instruction in acting in Akkineni Film Institute. Earlier a film Institute run by Devdas Kanakala was more reputed than all the institutes in Hyderabad. The institute too produced a few talented artistes, including comedy hero Rajendra Prasad. Now this institute is almost forgotten. Along with Akkineni Film Institute, there is one more place to get trained in acting and that is Madhu Film Institute. But this is yet to make its mark. Of all, Akkineni Film Institute is excelling. This has produced Shashank, a hero of 'Anukokunda Oka Roju' and Siddarth of 'Tapana' fame. The need for such training is growing day by day in Telugu Film Industry.
